Nice fish B.Casper and SK. Cool Shot: You may have a point. I have cleaned many of Redear over the years and have found snails in their stomachs including the crushed shells.

I gave Lake of the Pines a try over the week end and the blue gills would not let me get down to the red ear. For the most part 7 1/2 to little over 8 inch's. Today tried Lake Fork and the sand bass, or bar fish as we call them was the same way. But they were a great deal bigger. I used worms both places but maybe next time. Love the pictures guys and that's what I am looking for.

My son and I did get on some red ear at Fork yesterday, but for the most part 6-7 inch's long, but there is red ear there. If anyone gets to try it, we were south of 852 east just along the old road bed, east side of lake. There is a lot of all kinds of fish in that area right now. Thanks a lot Guys for the help and when I get that big one will have pictures.

Looks like folks are catching some nice redears from the photos! Haven't made it to Winnsboro yet, but did fish Lake Greenbriar in Holly Lake Ranch where I just moved. I caught several good redear to 8" using nightcrawlers I caught under the leaves in the woods here. I will still get on Winnsboro and leave a report and photos.
