I have had good fishing in State Parks. thumb A lot of parks get and stay pretty busy during holiday and summer months. hmmm I usually fish them during the parks off times. Non holidays and weekdays. cheers

Purtis Creek is not far from you in Mesquite and it has some very big bass. Plus, there is good bank fishing on the end of the lake near the dam.

I fish at the Cedar Hill State Park all the time. Only seen 3 come out that are good size. Caught a bunch of small ones though. Using live minnows is the key. The area has loads of gravel and shale so I drop shot live minnows. Reel back slowly and lift a little. Jiggle it in place a bit. You should feel a bite if they are feeding.

Heading west, the quarry lake at Ft Richardson State Park outside of Jacksboro has some NICE lmb in it.
