I'm 67, and have been very fortunate so far, this year so far it's long sleeve shirts, long pants, buff, and full cover hat.
I also bought me one of those spray fans at Dicks the other day. So far so good,..we'll see what 100 degrees feels like soon.
also put a umbrella in the boat just to have a palce to get out of the sun for a few minutes and cool down if needed.

Same here, I'm now 68 and hate to have to do all those things but, like you, don't want any more bouts with cancer (that could have been prevented).
Take care, use your head in the coming weeks/months. We have a LOT of bright/hot sunshine coming up.
God Bless

Well, at 72 I have had five skin cancer operations, all on my face and nose, and I can promise it's not fun. I too was too stupid in my younger years to use sunblock, and now I'm paying for it. EVERY trip now I wear long sleeve shirts, fingerless gloves, buffs and of course a cap. Plus I wear two coats of SPF 50 on any exposed areas. But I'm lucky as I only have basil cell carcinoma. This type won't kill you, but it will disfigure you. With our hot months coming just around the corner; be smart, cover up.

Guys, I am 61 and because of folks like ya'll posting about the stupidity of not protecting yourself from the sun, I started wearing spf50 or better long sleeve fishing shirts and wide brim hats quite a few years ago to protect myself. I still think I need to get me some of those skinny little gloves. You hear those carp stories all the time about cover up or you have a good chance of getting cancer, but as men, simply put, we are pretty hard headed. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for telling your stories and reminding me not to be careless. And Bush Hog, I like fishing under bridges just about anytime. smile AND LEE.... When it comes to me, having half an ear is a blessing because less than half of what I say is worth listening too. thumb

Agreed C Worthy! thanks pardner. Just hate that I was so ignorant as to give no thought to protecting myself from the obvious. But, being younger years ago we all think we are 'bullet proof' and it will never happen to us.
Hey, the gloves are a good idea. I need to look into getting a pair myself.
I guess I was fortunate as the results seem to indicate that it is now all gone and many have told it me they didn't even notice it being 'smaller'.
Guess it was just my own 'vanity'. I know it's half gone... but, at least she (Surgeon) was good enough to craft what was left into something more or less resembling what was.
roflmao Maybe need to ask her about reducing the size of my other ear....then they will 'match' ??
God Bless
