Yes, I'm catching 65% of my fish on Ray Roberts shallow. Everyone knows my deal
Is timber fishing. And I like to fish fast when they are on timber. And I think
It's better to fish fast on timber but that's not where they're at right now. But what has been going on in the last week or two at Roberts really has me slowing down and it's paying off! What I've been doing is putting my power pole down so I don't spook any fish with my trolling motor. Then I fish and pitch to every piece if tree, stem, grass, lay down I can find. I fish every side of every thing. That's what is making the difference. Don't just cruise the bank dropping in here or there. Cover all of that water that you think looks good. Most people have "fishing eyes" and know what looks like good habitat. You're probably right. Just slow down and fish it. It's easier to put patterns together that way! We smacked them again yesterday afternoon on a completely different pattern than we did on Sunday. And it's all because we slowed down and put the puzzle pieces together! Good luck everyone! Here's some pics from our trip last night! And yes, both broke their personal best crappie:)
