Talons are the easiest to install as long as you follow step #1 which isn't in the manual: STEP 1: INSTALL JACK PLATE.

What were your hang ups with your power pole install?

Awesome read!!!! Sounds very similar after having been married for almost 30 years!

Glad you made to the end of the tunnel. Haha. Things get frustrating sometimes. But, hey!!! If ANYTHNG goes wrong with it, you fully know what to do to fix it now. Right? It's a good feeling. And yes....if I see ya, I will do my best to drool and be jealous.

A great story. Laughed out loud. Like most good lessons, we learn them the hard way.

Jack plate install is the way to go. Two mounts, two talons, one hour thirty minutes and headed to the lake. You will love them great in the wind but good for other things as well.

Great Read!!! It always stinks the worst when you get right in the middle and have to keep going. laugh At that point, you're cussing yourself for starting the project, but it's just as quick to get it finished.

Great writeup. Sorry for your trouble, but at least you're able to laugh about it now...or write about it in a way that makes us laugh. I enjoyed it.

One thing is for sure after that fiasco, you and your wife deserve to head to Mary's and get you one of those famous chicken fried steaks and you won't have to go very far to get one. It's a 340 mile drive for me to get one and I wish I was having one right now. Sounds like your project went about how my projects usually go. Enjoy your new toy.

Have a Blessed Day,
Mike

Good, funny story!! :-) I do remember your earlier post asking about installation. That "goo" wasn't on my boat think goodness! Just some regular RTV. Hopefully all things she called you that rhyme with "truck dew" all end up OK in the end!! smile

I thought this only applied in my world!! But I am getting smarter, like wheel bearings $25 per tire, thank you, I will read the paper and drive it off when done, while you clean the grease off your hands, knees, fingernails, face!!

Great read!! I laughed out loud! I'll be sure to "oooo and ahhh" over your talons if I see you on the lake.

I'm fairly certainly almost positive that if she EVER finds out I put her through that to save $225 she might kill me. Literally. I'm sure I'd get hurt real bad; at least in the wallet...

We both still have remnants of the black death on our fingers. She LOOOOVES that!

I agree with those that say paying is worth it sometimes. How about I pay you and your wife $50 bucks to install mine when I get them?

What? Truck Blue? I don't get it.

Glad you got them done and hope you have many years of trouble-free use out of them.
