Has anyone been to broken bow lately? I'm taking a guy that has never been on a long fishing trip before. I have never been to Broken Bow before can someone give me a fishing report and what the water looks like right now? I'm going up there wanting to bass fish, but I have heard that the crappie fishing isn't to bad... Is that true? Shoot I'm even bring some light spinning reels and my fly rod to trout fish with. Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!

Lake is up about 7 foot with more rain coming. All fishing was slow this weekend with the high skies. I believe the crappie have the post spawn blues. Bass fishing has been decent. I think most of the fish are so far back in the flooded timber, you can't get to them. Water from Otter creek on down is clear. Muddy up from there.

I was there almost 2 weeks ago so I wouldn't call this super current. First day we fished for about 2 hours because we got there at 6PM and caught about 5 largemouth and a dozen sandbass off one secondary point using a 5XD. Very lucky, right place right time kinda deal (saw them on my graph)

Second day tried squarebills, rattletraps, weightless flukes, texas rig, and chatterbait up in creeks with little success. Switched to a dropshot and 6" roboworm and absolutely murdered them with my wife. Lot of good largemouth 2-3 lbs and spotted bass.

Last day we had success on wind blown main lake points and in the backs of creeks. Had 6 good largemouth 2.5-3lbs in 15-25ft on the points. Spots and smaller largemouth came out of the creeks. All fish came on dropshot and carolina rig.

Last year when I went it seemed like you could pull up to a creek and start catching fish. This year was very different. Because we weren't catching them easily in the creeks we ran around a lot more but found concentrated groups of larger fish. Last year we caught a ton of small spotted bass just trolling down the bank with weightless flukes.

We fished the southwest side mostly. We went east and as far north as Otter but weren't doing very good.

Just got back from McGee Creek and Broken Bow, caught lots of numbers on McGee Creek, Broken Bow was good, better quality fish but less numbers, caught fish on weightless sinkos, spinner baits, and brush hogs, lake is up, and fish are up with it, put your bait in the brush and you will get bit

Good luck
