I know there's factors involved. But what is a lot of hours on a Mercury Motor? What can you expect to get out of a motor? 1000hrs? 3000?

2,500 at least. *IF* it was maintained, and good fuel and oil were used in it. 80 hours a year is about average for most Texas users, guides and pros can put 400+ a year on one pretty easy.

I consistently put 450 a year on mine, every one I turned back was tight and ran perfect, EXCEPT the one I ran wallmart oil in all year, it was worn out. Valuable lesson. I won't run that garbage in my weedeater now.
