Convert any jig to a roadrunner type lure for less than 50 cents. Materials: Jig head 1/16 or 1/8 oz. Jig body, either plastic or Hand tied O-ring #0 or #1 Swivel, #12 Blade #1 Colorado or any other small blade. Small piece of rubber band to keep swivel on the hook. These work the same as a roadrunner for 1/3 the price. Can be added to any jig or removed in a flash.

I have seen this on a few bass jigs, but never dreamed of using them on a crappie jig.

That's a great tip? Those road runner jig heads can get pricy.

I have never seen my jig fished like that, Mr. Paty. I guess I may need to book one of those instructional trips with you after all. Hope all is well up in your part of the world!

these jigs do work, the first ones that I know of and got me started on them, Charlie Brewer over 25 years ago. If any of you want to look at a lot of ways of doing it look up Charlie Brewer jigs and have a look. His son Jr. runs the company now and I think has all of the bass stuff under Slider. But just his name should get you there. If you want parts to do your own Barlow has what you need. And the best thing to hole it on the hook that I have found is a piece of hose like on cars to run the vacuum. A foot of it cut up will last a while.

I like to put them on the back of the hook before jig, the barrel swivel holds the spinner away from the body , but I'm cheap the spoon/spinner is made from a coke can I snipped lol !

Now I'm wondering where I can get the rubber bands for braces. They'd work perfect. Got lots of blades from Barlow's already. Nice trick.

French blades give of ALOT of vibration and water displacement. its the ones used on the Mepps Aglia spinnerbait. They are coated in real pure silver, and nothing reflects light like polished silver. iF I recall a few other brands use the french blades as well, but you can order them seperately,.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I have used a hole punch tool on the plastic lid from a coffee can. Take the piece you punch out to keep stinger hooks on spinner baits.

All right Ernest, I'm giving it a shot. The Stump bug was perfect for this. I pinched off the middle and the blade falls right down between the two legs.
