Made the third annual "Bob Landry and Mutt" get together. We made a day of fishing at Inks Lake. The water was stained due to resent rains and the current was strong due to the fact that water was being let out of the Lake Buchanan flood gates. Also joining the trip was Bob's and Mutt's friend Israel who lives in Liberty Texas. We fished from 9:30am till 2:30pm and we really had to work for the fish we caught. We caught some very nice Copper nose Bluegill,Hybrid Sunfish,a couple of Redbreast,a nice bass, and a nice White Bass. Fish were caught in 4 to 10 feet of water holding away from the bank by overhanging tree limbs. Float and bottom techniques were all used. Worms,jigs,and small gold colored spinning lures were the baits used. Fish were released. After a day on the water myself and Israel stopped in Johnson City for a fantastic dinner at the Hill Country Cutting Board. Bob and Mutt had prior plans and they had to put a rain check on the dinner. Spending some great time fishing a super lake with super anglers. It just don't get any better!

A little bit of catching, but a lot of fishing and just getting together with some good friends. The weather and the water level on Inks didn't really cooperate, but we managed to work around it.The guitar player in Olhipi's band from 30 years back came out and fished with us and it was great to see him after 30 or so years. Olhipi"Mutt" and I have kept in touch over the years and after all that time, we are now reunited as fishing buddies. I go down for a visit and we fish a lake or Trinity Bay and he comes up here to fish with us. Mutt's coming back up here next month and we'll do it all over again including a fish fry and boudain balls and of course, a lot of lying about the big ones. As Chuck would say, it just doesn't get any better.

Side Note: How is the State Park there? Also how many public ramps are located on Inks?

Thanks Curtis for the reply. Inks is a very nice lake and there is a nice population of sunfish there. As for the boat ramps the only public ramps are at the State Park. There is only one double ramp.

Very nice fish Banker, beautiful fish. Were you fishing from the bank, or do you need a boat when fishing Inks. I keep telling myself I will make a trip up there, but have not so far.
