Ronnie, REDGUN, and I Hit Palestine on Saturday and the weather was absolutely beatiful! Got on the water about 8:30 and off we went! First stop we ran into a shad spawn and man the sandies everywhere like flies on chit !!! We caught a few nice un's there then headed to our next location! Now this here spot was different because ya had to toss your jig and let it fall back! So REDGUN tosses his first an I tell him it'll be funny if ya catch a fish lol! Next thing ya know "WHAM" slab on! So we all do the same an before ya know it everybody's "tossin toads and slangin slab" I'm starting to wonder what color others are using because we all were catchin!!! Everybody had purple on an outta no where you hear Jason start singing "Purple Rain Purple Rainnnnnn" Hell it shocked me cause he can actually hold a tune ...Poor Ronnie missed the slab of his life an I won't let him live it down because he didn't get to see it before it came off but I did lol, I'd say it had to be a good 2.6 or so! Next time I'll have the net ready for ya buddy, Sorry bout that ! We hit a couple more brushpiles to add a few more to the livewell an ended up with 53 an 2 whisker fish lol! Thanks again Jason an looking forward to your next concert
Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!
We're gonna have a crappie/karaoke tournament next time guys! I really enjoyed the day. Just a short Palestine report for you guys. The shad are spawning heavy on the bridge and there are lots of fish holding there. We caught these fish on several different jigs most having some purple in it. I used a 1/24oz white lightning most of the day. Give Pepop a hollar and he will fix you up. Good luck everyone. I just started working a new shift at the PD so I am guiding all day on Sat and Sunday now. Also half day, afternoons the rest of the week.
