I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned top water as a favorite. Mine is the yellow magic. Exciting and enough hooks to get them pretty much every time.

Teach me your ways I can't count how many big fish I've lost on topwater from spitting those hooks

I'm surprised I didn't list it as one of my weak ones.

Best - T-rigged plastics, jig, and topwater
Worst - C-rig, A-rig (never again), and stitching

to me, a jig and a Texas rig bite are pretty similar. If you are good at bottom fishing a worm, then you will get the jig bite down really fast. Like, when you KNOW there is a fish on your t rig by instinct, that is kinda how jig fishing gets. After so many years of fishing by feel, knowing that the bait is doing something out of the ordinary (getting eaten by a bass) becomes second nature.

I don't know why I feel it's so much different. Maybe it's because I'm using a heavier jig than what I'm used to on a Texas rig? I don't feel like I can tell what every little thing is with the jig like I can with the Texas rig. Then if I'm not getting bites I start thinking the jig is too big of a profile and due to the lack of confidence I put it down way too quick.

I know you're right about them being a very versatile bait though, that's why I want to get a lot better with them.

I'm most effective with a Tx. Rigged worm. My favorite way to catch fish is with a hollow bellied frog. My worst technique would be the A-Rig and will only throw one in open water fishing for sand bass.

Swim baits, deep cranks, and a-rigs are by far my weekness... Flutter spoons just frustrate me. Feel confident with any soft plastic presentation.

Favorites. shalow water, pitching a jig or craw tube, wacky rigged senko type bait, weightless tx rigged senko type bait or weightless fluke, spinner bait around grass
Favorites.. top water, Buzz bait, Yellow Magic, frog, and wake baits.
Favorite..any depth..Drop shot, C-rig
Favorite..deep water, A-rig, spoon.

I like cranking ok just don't like how much they get hung up in the timber.

My least favorite would be a wacky rigged trick worm and a chatter bait. I just don't get many bites on either one.

Best - Vibrating Jig (Chatterbait), Jig/T-Rig, Senkos
Worst - Crank Baits Especially Lipless. Not sure why, just don't have the confidence to throw them often

Best is squarebill cranks, chatterbaits, senkos either t-rigged or wacky rigged and dropshot.

Worst by far is frog then lipless cranks and jigs. I just can't wait on a frog. it's like a involuntary reflex. I need to work on it big time
