I'm wanting to load up and take the kiddos to a different lake than we are used to. We generally fish Leon & palo pinto.

I've got a lil old bass tracker boat so we are not shore locked. I've got a lowrance elite 4x chirp but other than reading the depth & water temp I'm clueless with it.

What lake would you folks consider the most user friendly ? Fishing with minnows for bass, Sandbass, crappie, hybrid ect ect ?? None of us have seen a hybrid or striper so those would be fun. Plus I hear they fight hard so the wife & kids would enjoy them.

Can be a day trip or if need be we can camp out if the trip is to far for a turnaround.

Richland Chambers is a great lake. Plenty of places to stay such as Oak Cove or Fisherman's Point. There are often plenty of boats and everyone is friendly as long as you are nice and don't crowd others who are catching fish. The sonar itself is easy to use once you learn what fish look like on it. If you get out this way, let me know and I will let you follow me around the lake if I am on the water and help you learn the sonar.

You can slaughter the sand bass on PK and big blue gill right now on some easy spots less than a few hundred yards from bluff creek marina

Thank you sir !

I played with the sonar today til I was blue in the face lol. Then I'd have to go hit the factory default to fix everything I had messed up !

Was finally out of time so we had to head back to feed the kiddos and get them ready for bed as its a school night.

Not real familiar with PK even though I was raised close by lol. Was raised on palo pinto.

Guess I need to find a few points or structure up there that hold sandies regular and start making the trip up there.

Any where around Costello Island should hold some sand bass right now. Close to shore early they are feeding on the spawning shad. You can spot the shad right at the shore line hitting the surface. Maybe try the cut on the west side of the island.

Richland Chamber is probably 3 hours from Strawn. Have you tried Hubbard Creek or Granbury?

No sir I have not. Actually have never been on either one at all.
Cousin lives on Granbury but haven't hit it yet.
