With lakes rising 3-4' overnight, where do you usually find them. As I posted in another thread, I couldn't find them this week and I was wracking them the last 2 weeks. Threw the whole box at them. Coves, points, creeks, etc. Just couldn't find them. Saw a lot of carp and gar up shallow and I never find bass when I see those suckers. Any help is appreciated.

My go-to bait in newly flooded cover is a bluegil colored swimjig. I know a lot of guys fish the newly flooded bushes, but I've had better luck in fields of tall grass that have been flooded.

fish real shallow and close to the bank. Lots of time there will be a couple of feet of clear water
close to the banks especially if it is rocky.

Couple days ago on Squaw Creek it was a Blue Fleck Power Worm right on the bank up one of the muddy creeks in the newly flooded junk.

I do one of two things. . .one is beat the flooded brush to death, like most everyone else. But don't forget about two. . .fish your same off shore spots. If you have a spot in say 15 FOW, it'll usually still hold fish at 20FOW. Give it a try.

Fish are really scattered in the flooded stuff. Fish the very back of the creeks selecting the last little points that stick out off the shore. I select one on the right of the creek and one on the left very near the back. These two spots are my indicator points for what might be all the way in the back. My baits of choice is a stained water spinner bait, weightless Sinko, 1/32 oz. short C-rig with a Fluke.

The shad spawn is happening on the shore line in the backs; a square bill running 2 Ft. will also be a good choice.

Once you get bit than keep going toward the back. If no bites on those 2 little points then move quickly to the next cut. Cover water as fast as you can until you find fish.

With the water temp. hitting the low 70's now, I would select the small main lake coves on the south shores.
