How many people have seen this? I have a friend who is fishing the BBS on Rayburn and we were talking after the first day and he said he seen 2 guys in a pontoon with BBS tshirts on and using minnows... Also seen another that cast and didn't real in for like 30 min.... How many believe or don't believe that this happens a lot??? I'm just curious how many feel the same way I do...

Like ALL cheating of any kind, it happens way more than we realize or even want to know. . .assuming of course that it's actually against the rules. I'm a numbers guy so I always believe that for whatever it is you have just discovered, there are multiple others of the same thing. Whether it be something tangible or an action, like cheating. If you've observed it, chances are it's happening in many different places in many different ways.

I wonder what the penalty is for getting caught cheating. Should be a fine then a ban in my opinion
I spend most of my time fishing the rest I just waste

I wonder what the penalty is for getting caught cheating. Should be a fine then a ban in my opinion its punishable by law in some circumstances... But yes... Ban for sure... Permanently if the stakes were high enough...imo

it's ridiculous, it's just like any other sport. When it comes to competition someone will always cheat i mean we've all played in a golf scramble and someone comes in with a 20 under par right. Those scumbags that cheat should be banned from any competition IMO. This kinda thing gets me fired up lol.

Definitely one of the reasons I stopped fishing tournaments. There has always been cheating I'm sure but it can't be stopped. Get rid of one cheater and two more will pop up. Glad to see that some states are taking this serious and prosecuting these guys but nothing will ever be enough to stop it from happening.

Was your friend sure that there wasn't a kid on board? They had a junior angler division with the biggest perch also. They could have also only paid one day and just been out there fun fishing. I wouldn't doubt there were some people cheating. I saw lots of people breaking life jacket rules although that's not cheating.

It HAS TO BE happening.
I cannot tell you guys how many tourneys I've been in where live wells were not checked before the launch. I always show them mine....before I launch the boat. Most act irritated that I'm asking them to look in it. Lol even BASSMASTER tourneys, were our live well checks are mandatory, it is often a halfassd glance towards the boat. No look INSIDE. just a nod and a wave and a thumbs up. Lol.
Live bait, I'm pretty sure, is against every tourneys rules. Unless, like said above with regards to a junior tourney for panfish.
Yes....it sucks. But, yes, I do believe it happens. And someone probably gets away with something at EVERY event.
As was talked about in another thread regarding rules....I don't care if someone breaks a rule that doesn't benefit their standings. Like a life jacket or kill switch thing. That's for their safety. Lol. It's the guys that cull a dead fish, hide a big fish to pick up, etc that really need to be tarred and feathered. Lol.

If a guy is going to cheat, he's not going to have fish in his live well at takeoff...

I don't think it happens way more than you realize. 10% of the Anglers are going to win 90% of the money. Mostly those who "quit because of the cheating going on" weren't winning or in a position to win anyway. Look at any long running tournament series that draws 50+ boats. The same teams are in the money year after year with a few getting in there occasionally. Every once in a while you have some clown that comes in with a plan to cheat to win. You see them here and there.

I had a buddy fishing with his son and he was using minnows. The kiddo was catching crappie while his dad was dragging a Carolina rig around the piles. Pretty good plan but it didn't work out for him.
There's been a guy on Rayburn that was rumored to have been using small crappie as bait and he has been catching some big ones. Coincidentally he weighed in a big one on Friday. I'm not saying he was cheating by any means, but I sure believe some people will cheat when there's enough money on the line to make it worth their risk.

Or does it have to be over 10# to eat. Hahaha
