Hey! Me and my brother have been searching for spots nearby but havent had much luck I live in mesquite but recently just moved here and lately we've been only fishing at RC but haven't caught anything. Any suggestions on where to go that isnt more than 45 minutes from the mesquite area? And we don't care what we catch btw.

Basically look on google maps for places around you that are within your driving limits, then use the search feature on here and type the name of it and you will see results with details and descriptions. There are a ton of us in D/FW that post about all sorts of places on here.

welcome

Start at the beginning of the RC thread and read through the end. There is a lot of valuable info in there. Techniques and spots. Not too many people will come right out and tell you where to go but reading through there should give you some ideas.

I live in Mesquite also and I assume you are a bank fisherman. This time of year is white bass and crappie time. White bass can be caught at Rowlett creek (gotta wait for the water to fall) or crappie at Lavon in the shallows. Catfishing along the rocks at Hubbard will start in about a month. My best advice is get a boat. It opens up alot of fishing to you. Even a jon boat is better than nothing. During the summer I like to fish bridge pilings. There are some great bank fisherman on this forum. Follow their advice and you should catch some fish.

If you're still having trouble fishing RC, give us a shout! After your trip, you'll be able to go out and catch limits on your own!

We'll also be running catfish trips, starting in May. Catching limits from the bank.
