 Wise choice?

Ever year I buy myself a birthday present and get a new setup to add to the collection. Flipping and top water are definitely my weak point though, so I'm just looking for some input. The reel is an 8.0:1 ratio. I know a lot of you recommend the power tackle flippin stick but after holding that rod it just didn't feel comfortable to me which is a big factor IMO. Anyone have either of these?

I prefer shorter for flipping, especially in close quarters to docks or brush. Heavy rod with medium or fast action and I like the 8.0:1 to get them out of the junk quickly. Have fun shopping and let us know what setup you chose.

I have that reel, I prefer my Abu STX, but it is a good reel. I also use a shorter rod. I use a St. Croix Legend 6'6" MHF
