Since we're on vacation this week wifey and I did a hardcore trips to Tawakoni on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. Tuesday's trip was very slow after 1pm but we caught 13 big sandies, one keeper hybrid, 2 short hybrids, 7 short sandies, and some yellow bass. Super slow Tuesday! That did not deter us from going back so Wednesday we got on the lake at 10:30am. We headed to our usual hot spots. First stop there were lots of 10" to 11" sandies so we moved on. I texted Lenahorse,(Larry) and his peeps how are they doing. They were catching small sandies too. Now by 11:30am the schooling go big and fully loaded with hybrids and big sandies. I called Larry and his peeps to come over. It was a blast! Met GoFishNow,(Ron), StreetWalker,(Rex), Ed, and David. We were on fish and just us alone we boated 100 sandies and kept out limits, so many jr hibbies and stripers. That was a fantastic trip and we came back on Friday at 7:00am and it was a slow morning with 10" and 11" sandies. Met up with Larry (Lenahorse), Rex (StreetWalker) and David. Later SeaPro-Todd showed up with his peeps. Finally I was able to meet Planokeith in person and Fishboy Frank. Great day on the lake with TFF'ers!. I caught a big flathead estimated weight between 40 to 50 lbs with Little Georges courtesy of StreetWalker. Wifey was my net girl and she could barely get it in the net as I was holding my bent rod. We switched and the cat wiggled and got loose. That was awesome to see it and there were three other boats witnessed it. Sorry no picture on the cat. We ran all over the lake for big fish. Burned half a tank of gas from scouting. Finally at 5:30pm we went up north to west side of two-mile bridge. It was on...birds were diving and shad were pushing into the cove next to the golf course. We were catching huge sandies in 5 to 10 fow! I've lost a big hybrid when it pulled the hook. They didn't want anything but chartreuse sassy shad with crappie jig above it. We did tried casting slab and little george. Wouldn't take it. Wifey and I pulled in big sandies and we even hooked up double sandies. We caught over 11 jr hibbies. We were the ONLY boat. All my TFF'ers went home at this time. Finally it slowed down at 6:50pm and I tried little george. A big crappie it! Awesome slab! we still refuse to go home until wifey catches a keep hybrid. We'll going to grind it out until darkness falls. As we cruised to the south of two-mile bridge I happened to glance to the east side. Birds were diving and water was splashing! Another schooling and wow!! More huge sandies with hibbies mixed in. Again we caught more jr hibbies and finally at around 8pm on a last cast. Wifey hooked up on a big hibbie!. She's reeling and holding on tight as I grabbed the net. I reached down with the net and I estimated it to be around 22 to 24". Wow..we could believe it broke the leader when it shook itself. That was a great feeling for wifey to hook that. It was getting dark and as we headed in we ran into a school south of Finger Piont about 100 yards. Told wifey let's do few more casts!! Bam!! Wifey caught a keeper hybrid and more big sandies. It was a fantastic vacation trip to Tawakoni! !! Thank you all TFF'ers for the reports and updates for making the trips great! We left the state park at 8:45pm and we were beat when we got home. Wifey is complaining her arm and wrist are sore. Great problem to have. StreetWalker and Lenahorse! SeaPro-Todd and his peeps! Tuesday's trip - wifey on a hybrid Yours truly with a crappie!

Hey Guy! Nice meeting you and your wife yesterday. Todd said you all got them a couple weeks ago. Todd said you got to fish all week. I'd like to have that problem! We caught fish all day. Some small, many keepers. Kept some for a neighborhood fish fry I'm having today. They love that fish. Looks like another great day to fish. If I wasn't on cooking duty today would be out there for sure! See you out and about....

It's been a whole lot of fun on Tawakoni this week, what with everyone catching fish and sharing their stories each day. I've got so much to be thankful for. Fished with 4 guys on Tuesday and 3 yesterday with somewhere around 375 fish on the clicker between the two trips. The sharing of information and lures certainly helped. The fishing has been poor for so long, nice to see the lake on the bite again. Please consider releasing the big hybrids and all stripers, take the sandies and yellow bass, there are plenty of those.

This week was what I have been waiting for I love it when we all can go as a group it just makes it that much better, I think we need to get Todd an electric reel as fast as he was reeling them in. Guy's wife needs larger line! I am ready to go back !

Hahahahaha! Thanks Larry. This week doesn't look good with the wind. Hopefully it eases up by next week. We enjoyed fishing in the group like that. Thank you and everyone.
