Got in on the red eye from Cali @ 6 am so I decided to go to the lake instead of sleep or work. Got to the lake late morning. Water is up close to 2'. However the water color didn't seem much different from the last trip before all the rain. Water temps range from 68-72. Carp & gar up shallow doing there thing. Sandbass are in about 10-15' near the mouths of feeder creeks or secondary points. If you use a crank in about 6-10' you'll spend most of your time busy with those guys. I couldn't get any bites on top. I had a limit by noon once I figured it out. Backs of pockets on swim jig and chatterbait. Managed 10 keepers for the day. Best five probably 18-20#. Lost one around 8# that hit me on a short line. Bite slowed as day went on except for the white bass which picked up.

Glad you had a good morning bite. I was out there in the afternoon/evening and running the same pattern but did not do so well. I did see a guy back in the same cove catch a nice one by all the yells and high fiving with his partner. I thought I was going to get to yell too but my big bass turned out to be a big gar that liked my fluke.

I fished from 7 to 5 and had 4 keepers, 12 pounds tops, I hate fishing a flooded lake that already has 10 million places for the fish to be.

I couldn't find them on Lewisville yesterday or Tuesday. Fished creeks, points, coves. Threw the kitchen sink at them. After a flood always leaves me clueless. Good trip.
