Thinking very seriously about buying the Minn Kota Ulterra I-pilot link 80 lb. 60 inch shaft. The remote is my concern, anyone been using the link remote's? Wondering how long they last before they break. They're $300 bucks and want some info, the remote has been around a few years now.
Also wondering if you can use the remote without the link buttons to use as a spare.
Friend has a Motorguide, his remote goes out every year.
Appreciate any feedback.

Also, found a new to me type trolling motor, A Haswing Cayman. For about $650 you can get an 80 lb, thrust remote trolling motor, any feedback on this would be cool too. Just found it yesterday, never heard of it before.

I have had my remote for a little over 3 years. I have some lines on it but they are not of any concern. I like that it is rechargeable. It is a little big and bulky so I purchased the micro remote. I can use both together since the micro remote does not have a screen to see what mode the motor is in. I will be upgrading to the ulterra with I pilot link though.
