You happy with the switch to the helix units? I love my 1199's. Just concerned that if I don't swap them out in the next little bit they'll become obsolete. Yes very happy. Humminbird seems to put out new models every 2 years. If the Helix units don't have any new features that you don't see the need to have them stick with the 1199s. You are correct with the price on used units is dropping, I sold mine for 1100 a piece and they were lightly used

Obsolete doesn't mean bad. Just cannot get a replacement of same model if issues come sup. I've had my 998s for several years. Have another 788 in dash that's starting to act up but after 6 years of pounding in the dash, expected I guess. Thought of switching to Garmin units and selling mine but can't justify the gauge I'd take in selling mine and the overinflated costs of all these new units. So for now, I'm sticking with what I got.
