Last time I went to Coffee Mill was last September and FM 409 was being worked on. It was pretty much a dirt road all the way from FM 100 to the lake. Does anyone know if the road has been re-topped? Planning to go Saturday morning to try some frog fishing early and was just curious. Thanks in advance for any response!

I can tell you from 100 to Lake Crockett 409 is a mixture of dirt and gravel...past Crockett, I'm not sure what the road looks like as I haven't been to Coffee Mill in a couple years.

I went two weeks ago and came in from 100. It was gravel all the way. The pavement actually starts on the other end. Come in from the west instead.

Not sure where or which side of the coffee mill entrance the road has washed out. That must have happened recently.

Went Saturday, 4/23/16, and coming from 100, most of the way, FM409 is sand/gravel but it is paved a little bit (maybe a couple or few hundred yards) before the Coffee Mill ramp and that has apparently fixed what ever part was washed out.

Fished just before sunrise till noon. Beautiful day and great fishing for me! Ended up catching 10 for the day. This was my first at 7:30, caught right here, and more than twice as big as any others. It's actually my biggest ever on Coffee Mill at 5.93 lbs! Heard several splashes back deep in the reeds but couldn't get to 'em. Got this on off the outside edge with a weightless black/blue BPS sticko!

Nice. I use to fish that lake when I was a kid. Then it got muddy. I haven't been back.
