can I get reccomendations...
shoes/sandals that are best for yakking.. I guess we all have to get some mud on them,etc... have bought $5 cheapies in the past for general boating, they might last 3 trips...fall apart
Places like rei have nice selections, it seems but the prices....eh!

I wear the Columbia Drainmaker shoes. I have tried many different shoes and like these the best. I bought mine here. Drainmaker If you look there is also a 20% off coupon to get a better price.

I used to wear my old Nike running shoes, once they wore out they were good for kayaking. I now have Columbia Drainmaker shoes, they are pretty good. I also looked at Sperry H2O Escape shoes, but the Columbia shoes were on sale. Good for getting wet and muddy, or walking on rocks, they are pretty fast to drain water and to dry out. Nothing except a closed shoe/boot will keep loose sand out, though.

I bought a clearance pair of crocs from academy, not the best as far as traction goes. However, given that I am rarely portaging our even getting out of my kayak except to drag it 20 feet to my truck, I never need anything super grippy. That being said, on the way home from workin, dipping the kayak into the lake more often than not I am just in whatever shoes I have on at the time.

I personally love my Astral's. Kind of on the expensive side and had to buy them without first trying them on but I find myself wearing them daily and they make great river and kayak shoes since they dry off extremely quick.

I'm either in my Five Finger KSO's or Astral Brewer's. Not the cheapest, but I like them more than the Drainmakers I've had in the past.
