Sorry for the late report. We fished from 3 to 8pm and put 27 in the boat. Lets see, the best bite was on plastic in the timber area. Caught several on a top water bait and a few on a crank. The intake area was holding a good bite as well. Water temp on west side is still about the same, 78 to 79 degrees. Water clarity was some what better on this trip. The fish in the pics are of some heavy four and light five pound fish. One I wish I had weighed might have gone six, but I had tossed it right after the photo and never weighed it. I try not to keep a fish out of the water very long, a few minutes at tops. So, when Im rushing to get a picture, some times I forget to take the extra 30 seconds to weigh it. I dont net my catch either, I always lip them, or if theyre pretty big, I will try to grab it under their belly as well as holding their lip. The west side of lake with warmer water seems to be producing bigger fish. Very good bite in and around the intake area. I haven't been back in a week and Fayette lake got hit with 13.3 inches in one night, so the boat slips might be under water right now. Timber on west side in about 12 FOW is holding good fish too. We are experiencing a full moon at night right now, so a early morning bite will only be a short period of time. From 3pm to dark will be the best chew time. Probably 5pm to dark will be the peak bite. Go get cha some of that good rod bend.
