i went out on the lake yesterday and saw a 6 foot gar being followed by some smaller gar are they about to spawn or what?

6 foot longnose is a record get your rod haha, but yah they are spawning

Gar are all along the banks right now in like 1 to 3ft of water in the colony (lewisville)

This is from last week just past the railroad tracks on Hickory Creek (about halfway between Old Alton and Hickory Creek road). The smaller ones are males and the larger is the female. As mentioned, a 6 foot Longnose would be a new record. Current record is 5 foot for rod. Here's one at 58" I caught last year on the north end of Lewisville for comparison.
