anybody know the best way to reverse the dull sun fade, back to shine like new? not temporary.

Austin,

You might want to take a look at 303 Protectant products. I believe they have different formulas for different materials and applications. A lot of the kayakers use this on their kayaks.

Wet sand, then use a buffer with ProTec compound products. After you buff, apply ProTec polish

They have a "how to" video on their website also

I did mine this past weekend, as I'm getting ready to sell it. Turned out great! Wish I would have done it sooner.

I had 87 model years ago that I wet sanded, buffed polished and sprayed a clear coat spray on it. Wasn't perfect but quick cheap and easy. Looked a lot better after

I had a 1997 that was really faded. I bought a dual action buffer at harbor freight and used rubbing compound followed by polish then wax. Its quite a bit of work but came out awesome. Hope this helps.

If it's really bad and rough to the touch, it'll need to be wet-sanded, buffed with an electric buffer and rubbing compound, then finished with a quality wax coat. If it's just faded, buffer and rubbing compound alone will bring it back. Reapply wax every few months to keep it smooth and shiny. I did this for my last two oxidized boats (I was a broke college kid and could only afford the rougher looking rigs) and restored them nicely. Gotta keep wax on them though.
