So I'm planning a trip there in late June. If I launch at Rough Canyon and head up the Devil's River arm, at the current lake level, what boating hazards do I need to be aware of in that area? Are there stumps and how deep is the channel in that area? Lake is down 25ft. Thanks for any replies. All I have is a depth finder. I don't have a graph to read the bottom.

No problems. The river is 100 ft. in places. Just follow the DR. Mile Markers and all will be good.

not many hazards up there right now.

biggest hazard you'll find in late june through august is gonna be pleasure crafts. gets a little "crowded" up the river during summer months. although, "crowded" for Amistad is a perspective.

Fished spring break if you are in the river past rc look for springs on the right cliff. Lots of gar, tilapia and white bass troll along there should get them in the boat. Also some nice aoudad rams!

This will be Slaughter Bend on the Devils River. Small water fall just past the cliffs on right side. Two springs in the area. One small cut right after the cliffs and the other is the water fall. Cooler and clear water if flowing. Haven't been up in about 5 months. Lots of boats in summer time. Enjoy
