Been using a Peak vise for a while, but was looking to get a full rotary that will also be my traveling vise so I don't have to carry my brick of a Peak vise around.

Looked at reviews and it's pretty split. Seems like the Peak and Renzetti Traveller both have options to customize, and it's nice that Peak is made in the USA. People who have tied on both, what are your thoughts?

The machining work is better on the Renzetti. The pedestal base on the Peak is heavier and more stable.

I've tied on both. Tying size 22 to 4/0 hooks both work. A little tough tying size 18 or smaller on both without the midge jaws. But I've had no major issues tying a big 4/0 popper on either. I like my Renzetti a bit more only because it's lighter and I pack on all my trips. Either are good vises.

My first vise was a Renzetti Traveler, and it's still the vise in my travel kit, 20 years later. I've added a number of Renzetti and Dyna-King vises to my collection, but still find the Traveler is the best vise when you're on the go. I've not used the Peak vises, but among those who have used both, the Renzetti seems to hold a slight edge.

Awesome. I may have found a decent deal on a used Renzetti I may pick up this weekend. I like fishing streamers and it has a clouser arm with it, so that'd be perfect.

Agree about the add-ons. Clouser arm, Saltwater additions, gallows tool, etc. make it quite versatile. I also found their material clip is superior to the ones on my Dyna-King vises.

And, for what it's worth, the Renzetti family is a big supporter of Casting for Recovery and volunteer for the CfR Florida program.

I ended up getting the Renzetti and love it. Definitely will travel lot better than my Regal medallion with it's 10 pounds of brass base lol

I'll have to check out that list of add-ons. I'm sure it'll have all kinds of add ons soon enough.

Enjoy! Just remember it's a slippery slope! I've been tying for 20 years, have my own room dedicated to fly tying, and still managed to spend another $%^&@ [amount deleted to protect my marital status] this week on more tools, hooks and materials.

I was down to those two as well initially. I bought a Renzetti Traveler and have liked it a lot...although in all honesty I've never tied on a Peak.

I actually ended up getting both lol found a good deal on a used Peak, then turned around and found a deal I couldn't pass up on a Renzetti. I really enjoy tying my smaller flies on the Renzetti and use the Peak for streamers and large flies. Much cheaper to buy the streamer head for the Peak then for my Renzetti or my Regal.
