Get ready to fish in the closest thing to a zoo ever....surf boarders paddling around with the kayakers and the bicycle paddleboats and the rowing teams with their chase boats and the double decker tourist boats and the joggers and bicyclers on the banks and the people throwing balls in the water for their dogs to retrieve and Austin PD on their SeaDoos but you can't even idle around....TM only except when loading and unloading...and just when you think you've seen it all....somebody will come paddling by in a little boat that looks like a huge swan.....and I thought Sam Rayburn on McDonald's Big Bass Splash weekend was crazy

Bill Wilcox fished it on Honey Hole last year. You can find the video on YouTube. I've never fished it, but after living in Austin for seven years during and after college, I can confirm that everything BigTXBassMan said is 100 percent true.

Ladybird can be a zoo, but it'll kick out SAL's, as well. It's not an easy lake to fish, especially as the weather warms up and the recreational crowd takes over the lake. If you have the option, it makes more sense to fish it out of a kayak. Fishing out of a bass boat is tricky in that you are limited to launches close to I-35 and it's TM only. Some guys try to cheat and slowly run the big motor and pretend they're using the TM, but it's pretty easy to see. And you will get called out for it. It's a slot lake, so keep that in mind, too. I had to tell some guys from Odessa to empty their livewell or face the wrath of a Game Warden, who patrol the lake frequently, as well.
