I am getting ready to add 2 Helix 10's and a Talon to a boat. Is there any brand of battery or heavier duty unit that works best for starting and the additional devices?

Go with Optima for the cranking battery.
They are a little more expensive but they have a two year (full money back) warranty.
I had one go bad after 10 months with a bad cell and Sam's Club replaced it free of charge.

One piece of advice when it comes to Talons.
I have two on my Triton and discovered that they will drain your battery if you don't have
a way to disconnect them, i.e., an off/on switch, fuse or battery clips that can be easily removed.

A good brand is always a good plan, but what you want from whatever you get is CAPACITY! That means get a huge battery. So, that rules out Group 24 and Group 27 size batteries. You want to join the world of Group 29 or 31 for your starting battery. You'll need a new battery tray, and room for it. If you do get an Optima, be aware that T&H makes special SKU battery trays for them. It's a regular battery tray with 2 inserts included that fit into the rectangular tray so that the odd-shaped Optima is held securely in place.

DO NOT! get the standard Group 27 optima blue top. I have 2-12's, a 10, and a 7, and the optima will not make it through the day if I use my live wells even a little. I cant tell you how many times I have had to move my motor lines over to one of the trolling batteries to get back to weigh in. I have Monster X2 power group 31's for my trolling motor and highly recommend them. I only put the optima as starting because I had it brand new and wanted to keep my 3 trolling batteries all the same, needless to say I have to now replace the optima new or not.

A group 31 Optima blue top will run a 12 and 9 and all pumps, and 2 powerpoles for the entire day. 3 year full warranty...

Before you go run off and buy Optima batteries take a look into Odyssey batteries. Most of your pros who are not sponsored by a battery company are running Odyssey. Not saying all things the pros do is right but they are running their boat day in and day out.

What he said, Odeyssey and X2 are basically same technology.

Sears AGM group 31/34 size. If you're spending the dough on the accessories, don't skimp on the power source
