Went through my "used" and stored stuff and found a few from Bill Dee that I am going to put back in my boat. Also went and got some Strike King's that looked pretty good. Next time at Fork I will get some of Papa's if I can find them on the lake.

Lunker Lure mostly for me.

1/4 oz. copper blade / white - chart. most of the time in calmer water.
3/8 or 1/2 oz. same color, solid white or solid chartreuse in dirty or choppy water.
3/8 oz. with clacker in heavy chop, same colors.

3/8 oz. black on black at night or in low light / overcast conditions.

One of the best post spawn baits you can use.

"..The pleasantist angling is to see the fish
Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I use all types of buzz baits, the one that has caught my eye lately is the double bladed booyah, solid black with built on trailer, as soon as you cast and begin to real it is immediately on top of the water as in some buzz baits takes a few full cycles before hitting the top, and sometimes sink fast, this one does not it is very very loud even when you bend the wires in more to create more clacking, it's been producing tons of fish at dark on points for me, even if it's 5 foot of water, sometimes the best thing you can throw is a spook. Don't be scared to throw a big top water, it's a great top water if you know the correct way to work it! Good luck

I still have some of the old Harkin Buzz baits. They work great.
When they first came out, John Fox did a tv show on them and said if you hold them out of the car window as you are traveling, it will wear the shaft down to where you get a high pitched squeak as you fish it.
So, the next week me and a friend were heading down to Granary Lake before first light. Me, the driver, holding my Lunker Lure out of the car window. I get passed by another two guys pulling a bass boat, and they were holding their Lunker lures out of the car window.
Great minds....

Cavitron is my favorite - makes a lot of noise and leaves a really good bubble trail. I usually add a white twin-tail trailer with tips dyed chartreuse.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I like a clacker on mine.

If you can get someone to custom build one, get the body downsized with big hooks.

Mine custom guy went out of business, like most small time guys do........

You mean you don't want to hold it out of the window as you drive down the road?

Cavitron in open water situations. But if they're in the junk, I throw the D&M Buzzsaw. In-line, big blade, free swinging EWG hook so I can rig trailer of choice.
