Roadrunners. 1/16 oz roadrunner is probably the best Crappie lure ever invented. It can be fished so many ways and all will work at times.

Casting: reel slow like a spinnerbait or drag it on bottom or bounce slowly back. all work at times.

Jig: Fish it vertically like any jig. Remember, slowly, don't over work it, spinner doesn't have to spin to work. Lots of strikes holding still.

My favorite color are white, white/red head, chart/black, but any color will work if fished right. Plastic will work but I prefer marabou.

Yea, Ernest, I remember you working that roadrunner to perfection in that cut...know a guy that can fish them, but I struggle to make them walk and talk like you do!

Ernest: You still doing the Crappie fishing / training trips? I'd like to go fish with you sometime and learn a thing or two.

This is a lot of helpful info to take in at one time....so on my next trip,i'm going to do as Mr Paty,E-Z,Crapicat and Laner suggested....Going to use a creature style bait on a rr.That should get me my new PB.

Hey Crope1, yesterday I was using a white/green Thermocline slab bug behind a Pink 1/16 RR head, until I ran out of them...then I switched to a white RR head...pink worked better, but hey that is what I get for using mono...lol...one of those times built for the slab bug...or any HUGE multi-tentacle type tails...had a for sure lake record on the line till that sucker spit the lure back at me...well, at least if you can believe the other three guys in the boat, that is! I am gonna have to give two of them credit for knowing what a lake record looks like...the other one...not so much...wouldn't have been a personal best (not by a long shot)...oh well, I know where she is hanging out...but right now I got bigger fish to fry...

Yea, Yea TBox...you told me...Ok, you win that round...quit gloating before I tell Granny B you got a big head and she puts you in your place...with her secret bait potions...and I hope Pookie barks/growls at you...nannyboo
