The Ray Hubbard Bass Club had our third tournament of 2016 on Saturday April 9th at Lake Tawakoni. The weather was decent, although as usual for spring the wind kicked up later in the day and we had some rain during weigh in. Tawakoni showed that last years spawn was great because everyone was catching 8-12 inch fish in numbers. She was stingy with the keepers however. In the end, Preston Smith and David Horton bested the field of 37 boats with the only 5 fish limit of the day for 21.45 pounds. Eric and Evan Vidal captured big fish honors with a 7.53 toad. Registration and weigh in was held at Sky Point Park in East Tawakoni. An excellent up and coming facility and the small pavillion kept everyone dry during weigh in.



The average size of the fish weighed in was a stout 3.57. Lots of solid keepers. Here's Paul Spann with a 3.44



David Simmons and Jared Fish weighed one fish for 4.53



Skee Hardin and class clown Robert Oleson weighed two fish for 6.19



Jason Hadley fished solo and had two for 6.48



Chris Atkinson and myself had two fish for 6.71 for a lucky 13th place finish.

Fishing his first tournament with us this year after back surgery was Mark Werner fishing with long time partner Vince Burt. The had two for 7.50 but that included second big bass of the tournament with a 6.04.



Garrett Macias and Bobby Finta had three for 8.38 with a 4.92 kicker



Tommy Yates and Josh Weidler got a top ten finish with three for 8.77



Joe Ruiz and Paul Villarreal had three for 9.73



Hitch and Steve weighed in two heavy fish for 9.80 that included a 5.60 big fish.

Justin and Jeff Garrett had four for 11.96 and got the last check.



Ryan Autery fished solo and had four for 12.06 and a 5th place finish.



Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace sporting a Grizzly Adams beard finished 4th with three for 12.77 with a 5.67 big fish



Second place went to long time RHBC members Eric and Evan Vidal with 4 for 18.23

Not pictured are third place finishers Jason Hunnicutt and Travis Reaves who had four for 16.08 but after talking to the guys that won it thought they wouldn't be in contention.
