Saturday evening I stopped by Thermocline Lures to get a few of the new mini tadpole baits from Todd and Belinda. Through conversation I mentioned I was going to fish along the road before heading to Lake Winnsboro. Todd asks if I am really going to fish along the road before leaving, an my reply of course was, YES! He grabs a rod and says Let's go! We instead head to a nook just behind his dwelling and catch a few small ones. He then suggests going farther back in the cove, but I am not equipped to wade. We stop on the first little point and make a few casts up and down the bank with little success. Then Todd wades out on a sand bar and makes a cast out towards the end of the point and down goes his bobber! Short fight later and he has about a two pound male in his hands! I cast towards where he was and down goes my bobber! IT IS ON! We finished with 28 nice keepers. Got invited to join Todd and Belinda on Sunday morning to try for some more. After a sleepless night, I met with Todd and Belinda Sunday morning and we all combined for 35 quality keepers before the weather stopped us. We caught almost all fish on the Thermocline Lures Slab Bug in Spring Grasshopper. I had a great time and had the company of truly great people! Thanks Todd and Belinda Box!
The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?
