Working in Tulsa for a while. Any local Oklahoma guys on here that can give me some leads to some local small lakes that would be good for me to take the bass buster out on? Any fishing forums like this one or some local fishing shops? All I have seen is bass pro. Thanks guys

Probably best forum in OK is BassZone. Drive east on 412 out of Tulsa and go to Verdigris Navigation Channel Afton Landing. Great place for a bass buster and great fish in there. Water may be clear enough to sightfish. There's a lot of good slews off the channel.

That is where I was going to suggest. I have been fishing in the nav canal with a friend several times and always caught some nice bass. Plus a ton of crappie.

There are a lot of small city water supply lakes around the Tulsa area. Sahoma Lake near Sapulpa, Claremore Lake near Claremore, Lake Bixhoma near Bixby and Skiatook Lake near Skiatook to name a few. Skiatook Lake is bigger and is run by the Corp of Engineers. The Black Dog ramp is in a cove out of the wind and would be perfect for your boat. There are several lakes and rivers in the Tulsa area. Go to the Oklahoma Wildlife Department location just North of the Oklahoma Aquarium located on the Arkansas River in Jenks. They have maps of every lake in Oklahoma by region. They could help you get started fishing the area lakes in Northeast Oklahoma.

Welcome to Tulsa. Good luck and good fishing.

Like JB said, Claremore and Bixhoma are good choices. Also, Okmulgee, Dripping Springs and Okemah are good choices just south of Tulsa. I used to fish Dripping Springs and Okmulgee a lot when I lived in Tulsa.

Thanks guy went to bixoma caught one on a spinnerbait. Great looking lake away from everything like the lay out very cool and relaxing. Fished there until about 2 then drove to skiatook lake. Very pretty lake. Reminds me of a small Texoma. Caught 2 there one on a June bug lizard other on spinnerbait. Luckily I had the rain gear it rained the whole time until about 6. Thanks again for the heads up and suggestions. Any good local tackle shops around so I don't have to go to bass pro?

Pumpback on Lake Hudson. East of Tulsa

While you're there...be sure and stop at Coney Islander and get some coneys.

Get on Facebook and like www.facebook.com/landrunoutdoors, you'll get advice on patterns, tournaments taking place, and tips. The smaller lakes around Tulsa I would look at Lake Claremore, Birch Lake, or the pumpback on Lake Hudson.
