Have been hitting the shallows in my kayak at Granger lately since I'm not super familiar with the lake and don't want to spend a day looking for brush piles. Anywho, was doing the best when the water was high from the previous floods, but the action really slowed when they drew the lake back down to normal pool. Best day was 22 keepers (left them biting) with 17 of those being females up to 14 inches. All the other trips were mostly 10-11 in. males with a couple females here and there. Tons of throw back fish. All caught on hand tied jigs. Pink/Chart was the most productive.

Nice ! I was chasing white yesterday from the bank, fish were shallow at 5 feet or less, caught couple of 12" and a magnum at 16". Also caught 2 nice 14" crappies. Fish were busting shad along the bank.

The thumb pic tells it all. It indicates a great day on the water. LOL

Wonder how the flooding will effect the bite. Lake went up 5 feet today.

Gate is closed, 504 normal, 510.35 now and rising. It will rise more still since they can't push water downstream. Unfortionately it will be up for a while. The bite probably won't be good until it's settled down.
