I have a set of "fins" on my boat. Previous owner had them put on.
Do they work? Or slow me down?

When I had a Nitro 17.5' with 90 merc it porpoise badly. It stopped the porpoising and I lost 3mph. Good tradeoff IMO. Hole shot remained the same from what I could tell.

It's USUALLY a band aid for a bad setup. Not knowing what you're running, can't say.
