So to the people that have a pro angler how do you like the inside the rod hull storage? Do 6 rods seem to get tangled when you try to store that many to the point that you have resorted to storing your rods behind you? Because looking at it that is a huge plus to me cause its nothing to get hung up when I go under low hanging trees and such.
Along with that is mounting a SI transducer on the pre-installed adapter an option or do you need to do a swing arm or different external transducer option?
Just a tad excited to get back to the states and buy myself a Pro Angler pretty dead set on 14 instead of the 12 at this point.

Rod holders work great. the tips are in individual tubes to prevent tangles. I fish a lot of brush and bridges and cannot use vertical holders. Not a big deal to mount he SI TD in the factory mount. there are a lot of threads on the subject if you do a couple of searches. Try the Hobie Pro Anglers forum also. good pics on there of the mounting jobs. http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=78&sid=5f0effc616910dc9a4c94f8c167f519e

I do not store the rods in the horizontal holder and prefer to use the behind me vertical rod holder I built out of PVC. If I do store the rods in the horizontal rod holders then I will only store four, or two on each side. The tips do not tangle, but the butt end with the reels do get in the way of the steering and paddling. I do fish bridges and under trees and it is a hassel to get the five extra rods down in the yak with me.. But that is not very often. When I plan ahead and know I will be fishing a lot of low hanging trees and staying under the bridge a long time, I will just take two rods with me and that is a much simpler solution to my type of fishing... Hope this helps..

Bring some rods on a demo and see what you think for your self. Most folks really like the layout. We demo and so do most dealers. BTW - Welcome back! Soon I hope!

In all fairness it isn't a deal breaker worst case I'll put them behind me. I've demoed them before just didn't think of bringing poles with me to see how they fit.And I can't seem to get back quick enough going through fishing withdrawls.

The tips do not tangle, but the butt end with the reels do get in the way of the steering and paddling. I agree here for sure. I use 5 rods at a time (2 on each side and one in my hands) or I get them all messed up in the steering handle on my PA14. Maybe a PA12 footer would make the reels a little further back and out of the way? The length of rods I use put the reels right in the way of steering handle. Now transporting to and from the water the rod holders are awesome. They are out of the way and you don't have to worry about them getting broke. Specially if your throwing 2 kayaks in the back of your truck at once. They are very well protected when in the rod holder. I dont store my rods long term in the kayak due to the fact they are bent while in the rod holders and that just doesn't seem like it would be good on rods for long term storage. That is just my opinion no rocket surgery science behind that.
