What is your preference, when it come to using a cork? I have both fixed and slip, but find myself using the slip more often. Just wondering what y'all prefer. And which one is better in your opinion!

Slip seems to work better for me.. gives me more ability to change up presentation

May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

I use a fixed for water around 5 feet of water or less. I belive the fixed is more sensitive than the slip, but even so I prefer the slip because it can be fished at deeper depths and usually cast more accurately.

I would rather die finding out there was no God than die finding out there is.

If I use a bobber it's almost always in water 1-5' so I'm a fixed fan just because they're must easier to rig

Slip, more options plain and simple!

It depends on a few factors...what action do I want my jig to have when I pop it, how heavy is the structure I am fishing, and how deep am I fishing...deeper than three feet, I want a slip cork...in very heavy tangles or if I am fishing reeds/cat tails, I want a slip cork....if less than three feet, wanting a forward moverment (versus a jumping/falling movement) or drifting by stumps, rocks, etc, then fixed is the only way to go...it really does make a difference as to what action you want your jig doing....

I'll use the slip when I'm fishing it deeper than my rig will allow. I don't understand the advantage to having a slip float if you're fishing within the comfortable casting range of your rod with a fixed float. Sometimes I think people jump on to the trend and then look down on the easier method.

Slip unless you are fishing less than 2 ft deep without casting. Casting slip works a lot better for accuracy and presentation.

Thank you guys for the replies! I have been using a slip cork up shallow, mainly because it was already riged, and I had to cast a ways out. I will try a fixed cork next.

Thanks

Don't use a cork often but I never thought about forward motion vs bobbing motion. I'll start taking that into consideration. Thanks!

I can't remember the last time I used a fixed float. I use slip corks 100% of the time.
