As usual, not asking for anybody's special spots, but if anybody could recommend a general area not too far from Weatherford to hit the banks on the Brazos I'd really appreciate it. My buddy lives in Granbury, so we're looking for a spot anywhere between Granbury and Weatherford that wouldn't be much more than a 30 minute drive from either location. We mainly target cats, and we're mostly catch and release so we're looking for size rather than numbers, though a mix of the two would be cool as well.

Thanks in advance.

Have you considered hiking up towards the dam below PK lake? Lots of species of fish up in there.

That's a bit farther away from me than I want to go on a regular basis. I may check it out on one of my long fishing days though. Thanks.

Have never fished that stretch only from Granbury downstream. There isn't much wood in the river but some should get stuck near either of the bridges that cross where you are looking at going. If you don't have a better idea you can fish for cats near those. I've caught nice ones in the past this time of year on the Brazos in about 5-8 feet of water on the edges of runs and other slow current feeding on just about anything to get ready for the spawn.

The bridge where Tin Top Road crosses the Brazos River just south of Weatherford has a little park, boat ramp and fishing pier. There is access to the river under the bridge also..
