Fishing was slow yesterday. I caught a dozen or so bluegills and one long ear, one undersized channel cat, one keeper crappie and one undersized crappie..

The bluegill were mostly small native strain females. Not one coppernose. All the fish were caught in deep water. The eggs are underdeveloped. It will be a while before they spawn. The water is not warming due to the numerous cold fronts. It was uncomfortably cool even with a jacket.

Thanks for the report Smithaven. cheers The weather patterns have been nuts since last May. nuts We must have had ten fronts come through in the past seven days. hammer The river lakes down here have been on and off all year. hmmm I have been lucky enough to get a few days where the bite was good. dance2 So far nothing consistent on the good bites. Creek and pond fishing has been pretty good and the bite is picking up. As for the spawn it is right around the corner down here. I think late April or early May. thumb

Side Note: More fronts with a good chance of more rain this upcoming Saturday,Sunday,Monday and Tuesday! hammer Got a little over 2" Tuesday Night! coolio

Nice report. Looks like some heavy rain coming in starting this weekend and will last over the next six days. Stay dry.

Nice report. You guys in the Dallas area got some rain. Seems that the Houston area got saturated. Saw one report one area in Houston got 12 plus inches of rain. Seems that this will mess up the fishing for sure.

Side Note: Got just under 2" Northeast San Antonio. Most of it fell this morning.
