Got on the water at about 7:30. Tackle used was 1/64 unpainted jigs with crickets and one pole with a slip bobber and plain hook.
At first the bite was really light they wanted it dragged on the bottom and they were barely tapping it. It was almost as soon as you felt any weight you had to set the hook. When they hit the slip bobber rig most of the time you couldn't tell, they just held it in their mouths.
Once the sun started poking through the cloud cover the bite exploded. I had to put the slip bobber away as I could barely manage the 2 jigging poles. They went from hardly touching it to trying to pull the poles in...
I had 12 in the cooler before the bite heated up. After it got hot I lost count. Called it a day when I ran out of room in the cooler at about 4:00
A few of the nice ones.
And the big one of the day.
