It's weird that one of the top tournament lakes in the country really doesn't have a big guide presence. Yes there are some, but not like fork or even Toledo

^^^ Too much money to be won out there to be showing spots.

That's what I'm thinking! Guntersville has a lot of good guides and a lot of $ tournaments. Rayburn just does not pull in the out of state visitors like Fork, Toledo Bend and Guntersville to help sustain a guiding business. I am not familar with the guides down at Falcon to offer the best comparable match for type of guide you a referring to but if their ability as a tournament angler is important then talk to Clark Reehm or Stephen Johnston. Jaret use to throw Todd Castledine's name out quite a bit as a guide but Todd may have stopped guiding.

To answer the OP's question, If I were to hire a guide on Rayburn it would be Roger Bacon or Clark Reehm. Never been with either on a bass trip but been with Bacon Crappie fishing and hear a lot of good things about Clark Reehm.

Try Bacon or Y Barbo. They post on here regularly. Not quite sure Reehm does fish trips during the tour season.

I went with Lynn Atkinson back in November on Rayburn. I caught a good number of fish and he took me to some good spots. I told him I wanted to target deep fish and so we did. For me, it was a different experience than what I experienced with Mark Pack on Fork, but that being said, Pack is the only other guide I've ever fished with. That's not to say it was bad by any means, just different. First off, the equipment was not what I expected, with Pack you use Metanium reels and G-rod rods, and with Lynn it was a WELL used H2O reel and a cheap rod. (I was on a business trip and didn't want to hassle with bringing my own stuff, in hindsight, I should have.) Secondly, he didn't really give any guidance on what bait to use, he was more like "ok here is an assortment of baits, use whatever you think will work". I figured with the money I paid, he would have been able to give me of a better idea of what bait to throw. Thirdly, he prices his bait to you before you use them so that if you lose it, its added on to the total of the trip which was odd to me. It wasn't so much on the soft baits, but on the rattle traps, jigs, spoons, etc. Lastly, I fished the back of the boat behind him the entire time. That wasn't that big of a deal to me as we were fishing deep the majority of the time, but some guys I know it bothers. All in all, like I said, he put me on some good spots and I ended up out catching him 5 fish to 1 which was fun. I would probably go with him again, however I would bring my own gear next time. His website is www.rayburncountry.com if you want to look him up. Just my $0.02.

A good guide could make a nice living guiding full time on Rayburn.

While I never fished with guides on Falcon. Roger Bacon would be my first choice to fish with on Rayburn. PS: He'll meet you at most any ramp that you want to take off from.

A good guide could make a nice living guiding full time on Rayburn. How many bass trips do you think a good guide could get a year on Rayburn? You use to know the lake better than 90% of the guys - why aren't you doing it?

You use to know the lake better than 90% of the guys - why aren't you doing it? Growing up on the lake and catching fish consistently are 2 different things... Takes a special mentality to be a guide but there's certainly room on Rayburn with its popularity.

I've fished with Joe Joslin a few times. Fishing the flats and deep grass that's hard to find is joes speciality. Good guy.
