Tried Navarro Mills Thursday and again yesterday, caught 10 keepers both times. First, Liberty park is the only park open with a boat ramp, Oak is open but the ramp is closed, and the store past Oak Park is the only one I could find minnows. Crappie were still staged about 20' off the rip rap at the Corp dam, about 10' of water. I used minnows and jigs, caught all but 1 on minnows. Bite was fair from 8-10 but then just shut off. IDK if they backed off into deeper water with the sun or what, but I couldn't catch another keeper after that. I cleaned fish on Thursday, the females had small roe, still not ready to lay for at least a week or two. I released the ones I caught yesterday. Water was getting clearer and 67-67.5 degrees. 4 or 5 boats on the lake both days. Hope it starts producing more soon!

that's how it goes on NM...some days you are the windshield and some days you are the bug...that is what I call slow but steady...Wolf creek park is open and the ramp should be too...

But have heart, most people that fish at NM don't even catch 4 fish on average(if they catch any at all), so you did better than average. Of course, there are several guys that have learned the lake that regularly do well, but that is true on any lake...

Well, admittedly, I don't know the lake at all. I'm the worst kind of Crappie fisher on that lake, I show up during the spawn and expect to limit out in a couple of hours. Simple truth is, Limestone and RC are closer to me so I focus on those, know their patterns pretty well and can usually catch a few fish no matter the time of year. Last few years I try to catch the spawn at NM and have had pretty good success...Just seems they're a little later this year than normal.

NM hasn't been the lake it was years ago. I'd go to RC, Aquilla, TPL, or Waco before I spend another day on NM.

Still don't believe it holds the state record.

It comes in on the west end of the lake. From where we were fishing in Wolf Creek you have to go thru some standing timber to get there. You have to take it easy, been a prop or two met its match thru there. There is a boat ramp over on that end off of 3270, but they say to not leave anything valuable in your car. Might not be there when you get back. I can't vouch for that, just what some locals say, I have never used it. Cash creek is south of there

I think you are referring to Ash creek on the upper west end of the lake. That ramp is the Pelham ramp.
