There's two big ponds on the north side of 30 just west of Dallas. Anyone know anything about these?
I've seen boats on the west-most one several times lately. They look to be in the Trinity flood plain?

They are Trinity flood plain. I do not know if there are any fish but they have never came close to drying up and have been there forever.

First time I remember seeing those ponds is as a kid going down the DFW turnpike back in the late 60's

Have driven by there for years and I'd bet they have some nice bass. If you figure out how to access let us know.

I remembered these lakes just the other day as I was driving by them headed West on 30. Sho do look good to fish. If I get out there I'll report my findings here.

I'll be there all weekend oh and no boat ramp. Straight drop off the edge.I'd love to see someone launch without a 4x4 it would be hilarious. No fish there either. Lots of had and Carp and people who bank fish for them.

back in my college days in the late 70's, I used to take a 10' boat and fish the smaller pond on the south side of 30 (just across the highway from where you are talking about, I think; just west of loop 12). I never caught anything really big (maybe 3 pounds), but I would always catch between 5 and 10 on a summer morning.

I fished them years ago. No luck there.
There are a couple further west on the South side that I used to fish regularly with good results.
One was a TXI water supply maybe? Caught a lot of bass there from my canoe back in the day.
