Benefit For Jay Lappin Family! As many of you know, Jay Lappin passed away last Friday, July 15,2016. Jay was a very kind man, a gentle giant as some has said that was always there to lend a helping hand. Now it's our turn to lend that helping hand to his family during their time of need. We will be having a benefit Saturday July 30,2016. We would appreciate any donations any of you feel you can provide. We will start out with a Fishing Tournament from 6am to 12pm at the old Titus county ramp. Those that wanting to fish in the tournament the entry fee $100.00 a boat pay back is 30% big bass pot $20.00 pay back 100%. Will be set up at ramp at 5am to take entry fee's. Weigh in will be at 12pm. Hamburger's and Hot Dog's meal will start at 12pm. There will be a donation bucket of what you feel you can donate. Just a reminder that this Saturday, July 30th is the Benefit for The Jay Lappin Family. I will be at the old Titus County Boat Ramp to take entry fees at 5:00 a.m. Once you have paid your entry fee, you may trail out to your secret fishing spot and begin fishing at 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Make sure to be in the weigh-in line by 12:30 p.m. If you are not planning to fish the tournament, PLEASE come out and join us for a Hamberger and Hotdog lunch with all the fixings and donate what you feel in your heart you can to help this sweet family out during this difficult time. Lunch will start at 11:00 a.m., Gary Youngblood from the Media Individual will be doing the Tournament Weigh-In at 12:00. We will have a silent auction that you can bid on items throughout the day. As of now , we have a Bass Replica from Allen's Taxidermy, Yeti Roadie Cooler from Tom Scott's Lumber, Case Knife from Burns Gun & Pawn, Haircut & Wax, Haircut & Color from La Bella Vita. Raffle Tickets you can purchase at the TAB in Mt.Vernon or at the Benefit for $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00 Items in the Drawing include, Santone Lure gift bags, Yeti cups in the 30 oz, 20 oz, 10 oz, & a coaster and many other items. We will also have t-shirts available for $15.00 each. Please join us for a great cause and show this sweet family how much we all care.

I have always been asked why I love living in a small town, well today is the perfect example of why. Everyone that came together to support a special family that has touched our lives in some special way. You helped in a way either by participating in our fishing tournament, cooking, pitching in a helping hand wherever you could be used or by a donation of an item or money.
The results of our fishing tournament resulted in 1st Place Gary & Jake Profitt, 2nd Place Steve Peably & Shawn Kowalsky, 3rd Place Billy Moreno & Mike Shipman, Big Bass went to Cade Hyman with a 5.9. Awesome guys! Everyone that won in this tournament donated their winnings back into the benefit. We raised a total of $4,700 for this family. I want to personally thank everyone who contributed to this wonderful family & gave from your heart.
