I was fishing near the barricades yesterday morning when I saw a boat run full speed and shut his motor down then raise his motor all the way up so he could coast over the water barricades going into Chaney to keep people out while they are fighting the Giant Salvinia problem back there. Do people not realize that going back there and then going to other parts of the lake can lead to spreading this invasive weed to other parts of the lake. I have a place at Fork and would like to have the lake in good shape for my family to fish in the future.

Normally this stuff is funny. You know....watching a dumb [censored] be a dumb [censored]. But, this isn't funny. He is endangering a lake and breaking potential laws. And yes, if it is in a tourney, and the area is restricted to boating traffic, he has broken rules and should be DQed.



That said.... Is it illegal to cross them? Or are they there to keep the plants in? Without the actual signage posted by TPWD or the governing body, it isn't anything that would be punishable by law. Or worthy of a DQ.

Best you could hope for is it rips his transducer off his boat....or something like that.

Yesterday I was fishing a tourney where there was a boat CLEARLY in a marked "NO BOATS" area. It is a set of bouys surrounding the water release at a dam. This fool is on the back side of the structure fishing with his boat up against the structure. About 100 ft inside the no boats area.

All you can do is snap a picture real quick and see if they are weighing in a sack. If so, rat em out!!! Haha.

Losers.

Call the game warden. If its a danger they should be able to deal with him.

I would think it funny if they waited by the barricades and when he came out they met him and told him that the boat would need to remain in the barricaded area, could we give you a ride to the boat ramp?

Well Mr Chief Whistleblower.... What you should have done instead of taking a pic of his boat numbers is take a pic of the sign - it says nothing about keeping boats out.

The fishing is not very good in Chaney. The poison has done something to the fish in that area

LOL, well my bad. I thought the signs said to stay out and I remember reading an article about people getting fined for going into these areas but maybe that was at a different lake. Anyways, its still irresponsible IMHO. But yes I was wrong about it being prohibited, thanks for clarification and I will edit my post.

We jump them all the time on our lakes. We just make sure our boats r clean when we come back across them. The barricades really don't do much as wildlife also spreads it around
