Looking to start rigging the Outback for spider rigging/trolling. Looking to get the wedge adaptor for hull mount and thinking RAM Revolution rod holder. Anybody tried these?

I don't have a Hobie, but I've just used the flush mount rod holders for trolling. Really I only use one at a time, on the right side, personal preference there.

As far as rod holders, I have experience with three of the RAM rod holders, the 2007, the RAM tube, my favorite, the Zooka tube. The Zooka tube is very versatile, you can use it was a rod holder, a vertical rod holder, for a stake out pole, and probably more that I haven't discovered yet.

I went to the paddle demo in Aransas Pass last Saturday and saw the new Viking Yaks. One or more of them had rod holders angling out of the side of the yak just about adjacent the seat. They were far enough back to not interfere with paddling. It looked like a great place for holding a rod while trolling. Their rod holders had a rectangular base, rather than the normal round ones, and didn't take up much space on the hull. To me, the rods looked a lot more accessible than the ones behind the seat or on typical yak crates, which require a gymnast to reach them.

Those stealth look awesome. But i wanted to go w RAM because of other accessories I want to use. Otherwise i would of tried them...they look great. Went w the wedge adaptor and revolution. Will be getting two RAM wedge flush mount adaptors, sliding the rubber rings down over the spreading mechanism (which makes them fit the molded rod holders for my Outback) and mounting my new for a three rod spread for spider rigging!!! Excited!

I bought a pair of those rod holders, the yak attack rail version. I traded a few emails with the owner and learned that these are compatible with Scotty bases and rod holders.
