I took the day off and headed to a pond with my 5 wt and 8 wt. Had a great day (for me). Caught a bass on a Dahlberg diver on the 8 wt. Then caught a bass and a large bluegill on a sparkle grub on the 5 wt. 2 more bass on the Dahlberg 8 wt then finished up with 4 more bass on a smaller Dahlberg on the 5 wt.

It sure is great when you use up a vacation day to fish and they cooperate. Glad you had a great day thumb

Met J-Moe at the spillway and found the fishing a little slow.. fished the overflow for a little while where J-Moe found the sunfish and I hung a whitebass and a carp.. that's a first for me to sight fish and have a german carp actually take a fly wink it was a nice one about 20 inches long but skinny. No video or photos tonight so you will have to take my word for it.. since I caught all the big fish of the day J-Moe probably won't collaborate my story.. smile

It's the main pond at the Southwest Nature Preserve in Arlington and it's catch and release only. It's loaded with them, but none seem to be over 13 or 14 inches.

I think the bluegills fought harder than the bass.

Yes it is. I took 2 days off when Tarrant county stocked trout in the Trinity and all I got was a sore arm.

Today was a lot more fun.

Thanks. Those are the first bluegills I've caught this year.

I hope there are many more :-).

I really enjoy your videos. Congratulations on getting the carp. I haven't caught one yet but hope to hook up with one someday.

cool! I like the fact that you didn't try to get the fish to pose! They can be as contrary as children when the camera is pointed at them. Good day!-p-
