Ok people. I am a bass fisherman and will be taking my father in law tomorrow to catch some cats. What would be the best place to go for good eating size and numbers? We are coming from Tyler/Arp area. We will make a decent drive but don't want to go 150 miles away. Thinking about going to Monticello. Thought about going to Tawakoni but have never been there and have no idea where to start to look. We are looking for the 1-5 pound range fish.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would still go to Twok. Are you bank fishing or taking a boat?

Any pointers on going to Tawakoni? I have never been on the lake. I want to catch a limit of keepers to eat.

I fish tyler all the time. The numbers just are not there for channel cats. I can catch bass there just about any given day though.
