was wanting to take the wife to fork this weekend and try to catch a few nice ones. After reading on here, looks like Fork may suck right now. Is it worth the trip or should we go somewhere else?

If it were me I would take her someplace else. If you take her to Fork she may hate fishing from now on. Or she may catch a Giant. Who knows but the lake is not fishing well right now.

You fish your style and put a salty on the end of her line and tell her to hang on.

If you're hoping for a 12 lber to Jump in the boat first cast then don't go. But if you have realistic expectations and understand it's a lake like any other and you'll have to fish to the conditions you'll have a good day on fork

You can put her on big sand bass non-stop, all day long if you just want her catching.

Go for the sandies if you are looking for fun. Having a good day on largemouths is possible but it takes a lot of work to find them.

Just don't release them. Take em all home or give them to somebody that will eat them.
